Palma, 27th February 2016. – The new Boxing Area at the Megasport Centre played host to a new middleweight boxing champion.  Abraham Roqueñi, winner of the 2004 Spanish K1 Max championship, gave a master class to around fifty sportsmen who attended this afternoon’s event held at the gym in Palma de Mallorca.

The former WAKO, ISKA and WFCA world champion offered an insight into his principal training techniques, suitable, as he explained, “for people who practise kickboxing as a hobby as well as for professionals”.

Movement techniques, guard positions, speed and time were just a few of the aspects covered during the three hour session, which also included rear guard exercises, “because that’s what gives you an edge and defines a true boxer”, Roqueñi stressed.

The new boxing facilities at the Megasport Centre cover 1,000 square metres and include all the equipment necessary to practise the various fighting styles under the supervision of World Kickboxing Champion Juan García “Juanito” and Olympic Taekwondo medallist Brigitte Yagüe.
