The sports centre will pay tribute to David Muntaner and Albert Torres next Friday from 5 p.m. onwards

Palma de Mallorca, 2nd April 2014.- Next Friday, 4th April the MegaSport Centre will be paying tribute to the Balearic Island pair that won the gold medal in the Madison cycling event on the last day of the 2014 Track Cycling World Cup: Majorcan David Muntaner and Minorcan Albert Torres. They have been invited to give two megacycling lessons, the first at 5 p.m. and the second at 6.30 p.m.

Muntaner and Torres have continued the tradition forged by another magical sporting pair – the Majorcan Joan Llanera and Isaac Gálvez from Catalonia. A year ago, they also achieved a great result at the World Cup, coming home with the silver medal. The results prove that Spanish track cycling is once again back on track and the outlook for future events is bright, with sights clearly set on the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

Members of the sports club will be able to enjoy this sport and spend a thrilling two hours pedalling alongside two world champions, who will be accompanied by the club monitor.

After the sessions there will be a special prize giving ceremony for the Gold MEGAstars Trophy, which MegaSport Centre will award to these two great sporting figures in recognition of their achievements and for organising the first edition of the MegaCycling Marathon last April, a tribute to cycling professionals and world and Olympic champions.
